Applicants for agent licences must pass a pre-licence test based on the Act and Regulations. Crowd Controller licence applicants must also complete an approved training course and pass a written examination, sat at the Cannington Licensing Office (metro) or nearest police station (regional). From 1 June 2026, the Security Competency Testing Program moves to the Financial, Administrative and Professional Services Training Council (FAPSTC).
