About the RSA Certificate in Victoria

The Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate is required for anyone who serves, supplies or promotes alcohol commercially in Victoria. The nationally accredited unit is SITHFAB021, Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol, but renewal rules are set by Liquor Control Victoria.

Your Victorian RSA certificate must be renewed every 3 years. From 1 December 2025, renewal requires both an LCV-approved refresher course and a mandatory SHARPR module (Sexual Harassment and Assault: Recognise, Prevent, Respond) before the new 3-year Certificate of Completion is issued.

Important: Victoria's RSA renewal requirements changed from 1 December 2025. If your last certificate predates this, check with Liquor Control Victoria whether the new SHARPR module applies to your renewal.
